Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Records & Reconciliations: Maintain accurate books of accounts, record and reconcile transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, bank transactions), and perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.
  • Statutory Compliance: Prepare statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT) and ensure compliance with TRA regulations and filing deadlines.
  • Stock & Cost Accounting: Monitor stock accounting, reconcile physical inventory with accounting records, coordinate with warehouse teams, and assist in cost tracking for imports and landed cost allocation.
  • Operations & Reporting: Manage supplier payments, customer invoicing, receivables follow-ups, aging reports, document verification, and support audit preparations.
  • System Management: Maintain accounting records using Tally or other accounting software to ensure data entry and system accuracy.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Technical Skills: Prior experience using Tally accounting software is highly preferred, alongside a strong understanding of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements.
  • Competencies: Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
