Job Purpose & Responsibilities

The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for providing independent assurance, evaluating internal controls, and directing comprehensive risk-based audit strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Audit Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute risk-based annual internal audit plans across all operational and financial departments.
  • Internal Controls Evaluation: Assess the adequacy, design, and operating effectiveness of internal controls and risk management procedures.
  • Reporting & Governance: Prepare clear, actionable audit reports for executive management and the board of directors regarding findings and control enhancements.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure operations comply with internal policies, statutory regulations, and industry auditing standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Certification: Relevant professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven professional background in internal or external auditing, with substantial experience in a leadership or senior managerial capacity.
  • Core Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, deep knowledge of corporate governance, and excellent communication and leadership traits.
