Job Summary

Reporting to the Integrated Partnership Internal Audit Executive, the Audit Manager leads and delivers risk-based internal audit and advisory engagements across the CGIAR System Organization and CGIAR partnership activities. The role allocates approximately 50% of its time to System Organization assurance activities and 50% to CGIAR partnership engagements, including integrated audits, cross-organizational reviews, and advisory assignments in compliance with Global Internal Audit Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit Execution & Assurance: Lead and execute risk-based internal audits and advisory assignments to evaluate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
  • Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration: Build effective relationships with senior leadership, Centre executives, governance bodies, external auditors, and donors to align assurance activities.
  • Delivery & Management: Plan and supervise audit engagements, including managing co-sourced resources or external consultants, ensuring quality, timelines, and practical risk-based recommendations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor implementation of agreed management action plans, enhance audit methodologies, data analytics tools, and quality assurance processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master's) in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Certifications: Recognized certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA, or CISA is required.
  • Experience:
    • Progressively responsible experience leading complex internal or external audit engagements in international, multilateral, development, research, or NGO environments.
    • Proven experience applying risk-based auditing methodologies and engaging with senior leadership and governance bodies.
    • Experience overseeing co-sourced audit resources and using audit management systems and data analytics tools.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential; working knowledge of an additional language is an advantage.
