Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate and timely IFRS financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic financial planning for Radborne Clark Kenya Ltd. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills to mentor junior accounting staff, and thorough tax compliance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial statements, oversee general ledger postings, and coordinate external audits.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing annual budgets, monitor performance against budgets, perform variance analysis, and provide financial advice to management.
  • Accounts & Ledger Management: Review and approve journal entries, supplier invoices, and payment vouchers; oversee accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and control account reconciliations.
  • Taxation & KRA Compliance: Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, NSSF, SHIF/NHIF, Corporate Tax), advise on tax planning, and liaise with KRA.
  • Internal Controls & Team Leadership: Strengthen internal financial procedures, recommend process automation, and supervise, mentor, and guide junior accounting personnel.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: CPA (K) or ACCA qualification is strictly required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/supervisory role. Experience in FMCG or manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of IFRS and Kenyan tax regulations, advanced MS Excel proficiency, and experience using ERP/accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Core Competencies: High attention to detail, analytical mindset, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills.
