Job Purpose & Responsibilities

The Senior Specialist Financial Reporting ensures that bank financial reports are prepared in accordance with all financial standards, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), regulatory guidelines, and bank policies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Reporting & Statements: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual trial balances; support the preparation of audited financial statements for both the Bank and the Group in full compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audit activities, provide timely documentation, respond to audit queries, and resolve findings.
  • Performance Reports: Support the preparation of Quarterly Board and Management performance reports, including variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior-period performance.
  • Standard Compliance (IFRS 9, IFRS 16): Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 lease requirements; manage IFRS 9 requirements including effective interest rate (EIR) calculations, interest income recognition, loan facility fee amortization, and the monthly, quarterly, and annual computation of Expected Credit Losses (ECL).
  • General Ledger & Operations: Prepare and post month-end and year-end journals, accruals, provisions, and adjustments; liaise with business units and subsidiaries to capture accurate Group financial information.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, with strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS Accounting Standards.
  • Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles; ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; strong attention to detail and data accuracy; excellent communication and report-writing skills.
