Job Summary

The Finance Analyst plays an important role in disbursement-related activities during the implementation of a project. The analyst works closely with Senior Finance Assistants, Finance Officers, and Regional Team Leaders to support task teams, operations staff, and external borrowers by managing disbursement issues, providing solutions, and contributing to system designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disbursement Processing: Act as the country focal point for assigned countries in disbursement-related aspects, perform transaction processing, and promptly liaise with clients to resolve potential issues.
  • Project Restructuring: Manage project preparation for low-risk Trust Funds as assigned by Finance Officers and review restructuring packages.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor inactive Project Designated Accounts, conduct portfolio management activities, and ensure balances are promptly documented or refunded.
  • Capacity Building: Evaluate transaction and portfolio reviews to identify capacity constraints among borrowers and train end-users on online systems and tools.
  • Data Stewardship & Systems: Support system enhancements, prepare analytical reports, maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, and automate reporting processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline is required. A professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience. Experience with financial institutions, accounting firms, or Big Four public accounting is advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Advanced fluency in English and at least one additional language (Arabic, French, Russian, Portuguese, or Spanish).
  • Skills: Strong quantitative skills, knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, ability to manage complex tasks under tight deadlines, and willingness to work with AI, blockchain, and innovative technologies.
