Job Summary

The Financial Controller functions as the property's strategic financial business leader. This position champions, develops, and implements property-wide strategies that meet or exceed brand and customer expectations while maximizing return on investment. The role creates and executes business plans aligned with the property and brand's strategy, focusing on financial/accounting execution and delivering desirable financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Decision Making: Analyze financial data and market trends, forecast sales against expenses, create annual budget plans, and develop means to improve profits and operational efficiency.
  • Accounting Team Leadership: Lead, influence, and encourage accounting teams by communicating strategic goals clearly, assigning accountability, and fostering a culture of high performance and integrity.
  • Goals & Reporting: Support property strategies from a finance perspective, ensure accurate Profit and Loss (P&L) documentation, submit timely reports, and review audit results.
  • Project & Policy Management: Monitor applicable taxes to ensure they are current, collected, or accrued; oversee internal, external, and regulatory audits; and ensure full compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
  • Stakeholder Management: Meet owner expectations and ROI objectives, advise the General Manager and executive committee on financial issues, and attend owner meetings to provide context on financial results.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Industry Background: Luxury hospitality background is required.
