Job Summary

Our client is a US-based accounting and tax firm managing small-business clients across construction, oil and gas, and day spa and wellness. The successful candidate will independently handle full-cycle bookkeeping, set up QuickBooks Online files, structure charts of accounts, perform reconciliations, close months, and deliver financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Own complete bookkeeping cycles for assigned clients from daily transaction entry through month-end close and reporting, including categorization, reconciliations, AP/AR management, and journal entries.
  • Construction Bookkeeping & Job Costing: Maintain job cost tracking for construction clients (coding labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment), support work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, progress billing, and 1099 preparation.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow packages, provide actionable financial summaries, flag variances proactively, and coordinate with external CPAs.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Certification: CPA license, or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency (company setup, chart of accounts design, class tracking, reconciliations, and reporting).
  • Experience: Managing full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously across various industries, with demonstrated construction bookkeeping and job costing experience.
  • Competencies: Strong attention to detail, self-directed, organized, and excellent written communication skills for client-facing financial summaries.
