Job Summary

The Receivable Accountant owns and leads the end-to-end Order-to-Cash and credit-control process, ensuring accurate billing, reconciliations, collections, credit-risk oversight, and reporting. The role maintains sub-ledger integrity of accounts receivable, supports month-end close and IFRS 9 provisioning, and partners with Sales and other functions to improve working capital, cash conversion, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Order-to-Cash process in partnership with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely customer billing, invoice processing, credit note issuance, and cut-off controls while maintaining daily SAP error logs.
  • Maintain customer master data, support customer account openings, and manage credit-limit settings and periodic credit reviews.
  • Follow up with debtors on an ongoing basis to drive the collection of overdue balances and maintain structured collection action plans.
  • Perform customer account reconciliations and resolve disputes, deductions, claims, and long-outstanding reconciling items.
  • Prepare and analyze receivables ageing and AR KPIs (such as DSO, overdue percentage, and collection effectiveness).
  • Prepare and maintain the IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss Assessment (doubtful-debt provision assessment).
  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly VAT and WHT reports to the TRA Portal.
  • Participate in month-end closing and perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional Certification: CPA (T), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience: Prior experience with audit firms or working within a firm, alongside general experience in accounts receivable, general accounting, or finance operations.
  • Technical Skills: Good knowledge of SAP and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
