Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Head of Finance (KE), the Senior Accountant will effectively and efficiently manage day-to-day finance operations, ensure rigorous risk management and compliance, maintain management reporting, handle cash flows, and support budgeting, forecasting, and statutory audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure finance operations comply with company policies, support internal and external audits, and adhere to national laws and regulations regarding the timely filing and remittance of taxes and statutory deductions.
  • Management Reporting: Conduct monthly reviews of budget-versus-expenditure reports, prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports with analysis and commentary, track P&L drivers, and communicate financial trends across departments.
  • Cash Flow Management: Supervise day-to-day cash management activities under internal controls, coordinate departmental cash needs, prepare monthly cash flow requirement reports, and manage payment schedules and petty cash.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with function and region leads to build budgets, forecast financial trends, monitor major project spending, and prepare yearly forecasts with commentary.
  • Statutory Reporting & Debt Management: Support statutory audits, prepare accurate project financial reports for donors, manage debt collection by keeping the debtors list up to date, and oversee monthly tax filings (VAT, Withholding tax) and fixed assets registers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of professional experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Skills: Highly organized, results-oriented, quick in execution, and detail-oriented with strong communication and analytical capabilities.
