Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, cash flow management, client funds reconciliations, and internal control activities across stock brokerage, securities trading, investment advisory, portfolio management, and fund management operations. The role works closely with the CEO, Trading, Investment Advisory, Compliance, and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance and financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Financial Management: Oversee general ledger accounts, bank reconciliations, revenue recognition (brokerage commissions, advisory fees, fund management fees), accounts payable, receivables, and supervisor duties over junior accounting staff.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), management accounts, variance analysis, and profitability trend reports.
  • Budgeting & Financial Planning: Lead annual budgeting processes, cash flow forecasting, working capital monitoring, and financial feasibility analysis for new investment products or initiatives.
  • Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate computation and filing of corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding taxes with TRA. Support regulatory returns and financial compliance for the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA).
  • Client Funds & Reconciliations: Reconcile client accounts, brokerage transactions, settlement accounts, and investment-related financial records in coordination with Operations and Trading teams.
  • Internal Controls & Audit: Develop and maintain robust internal financial controls, coordinate internal and external audit activities, and manage risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: Full professional accounting qualification such as CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting and financial management experience, preferably within a regulated financial services institution, securities brokerage, capital markets, or investment management environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of IFRS, TRA tax laws, CMSA regulatory reporting frameworks, and accounting software/ERP systems.
  • Core Competencies: High integrity, sound financial judgment, analytical rigor, attention to detail, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
