Job Purpose & Responsibilities

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day financial accounting functions, strengthening the finance team, ensuring compliance and efficiency across all processes, and contributing to strategic business growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial & Accounting Operations: Manage financial accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, General Accounting, Taxation, and Cost Control.
  • Cash Flow & Vendor Management: Maintain weekly cash flow forecasts to ensure positive liquidity at all times, and oversee timely creditor reconciliations and payments.
  • Reporting & Audits: Produce accurate financial reports including annual budgets, bi-annual forecasts, monthly management accounts, and weekly cashflows; oversee annual statutory audits and ensure timely sign-off and filing.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Act as the key contact for revenue authorities, ensure tax queries and audits are handled with zero exposure, and manage company compliance including BRELA annual returns and corporate insurances.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Supervise, train, and motivate the finance and administrative support team while providing consultative support to management through financial data analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) completed or finalist is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of finance-related experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Previous experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel and Google Sheets proficiency, IT savviness, and technical expertise in Tanzanian tax laws.
