  • Location: Tanzania (Multi-country project spanning Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe)
  • Employment Status: Full-Time (January 2026 – June 2028)

Job Summary

The Project Accountant will manage financial operations and accounting for the AFAWA Project, which empowers women-led businesses and women employees in ETG's agribusiness supply chains. The role reports to the Consortium Lead and involves multi-country financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and donor audit preparations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Maintain financial records, handle foreign currency management, and support multi-country project accounting.
  • Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare financial reports, manage project budgeting, and ensure adherence to financial compliance standards.
  • Audit & Controls: Support audit preparations, maintain high levels of accuracy, and ensure strict adherence to donor guidelines (AfDB, World Bank, or similar institutions).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to project implementation sites across the four participating countries as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree and/or CPA/ACCA certification is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management of donor-funded programmes (experience with AfDB or World Bank preferred).
  • Skills & Languages: Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Fluency in English is required, with a working knowledge of Swahili or Portuguese considered an advantage.
