Job Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting business growth through strategic financial management, and maintaining strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee all financial and accounting operations in compliance with IFRS and Tanzanian regulations. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Planning & Cash Management: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risks. Monitor financial performance and identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with TRA tax requirements including VAT, PAYE, and statutory obligations. Coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities when required.
  • Internal Controls & Leadership: Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and policies. Supervise accounting staff and support branch financial operations. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of tax planning, compliance, and financial management; good understanding of Tanzanian financial and regulatory frameworks; proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; strong leadership and team management skills; excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities; and a high level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
