Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee the organization's accounting operations and support financial management activities. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, strengthening internal controls, supervising the accounting team, and ensuring compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger & Financial Reporting: Maintain and oversee the General Ledger, prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist in annual financial statements.
  • Cash Flow & Receivables: Review daily cash reconciliations, monitor cash collections and bank reconciliations, support forecasting, and manage outstanding accounts receivable (including sponsorship, event, and corporate customer receivables).
  • Payables & Audits: Supervise supplier account reconciliations, verify balances, and support internal and external audits.
  • Budgeting & Compliance: Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, departmental performance reporting, and statutory/tax compliance.
  • Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise the Payables Accountant and Cashiers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a senior role with staff supervision experience. Experience within the hospitality, retail, entertainment, or service industry is an added advantage.
  • Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, budgeting, financial controls, Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems.
